** Exercises People OVERUSE **

I was curious as to what exercises people overuse and just do them again and again without proper form with the same amount of weight thinking, in their heads, theyre really making progress. I have a couple right off the top of my head..

Flat Bench Press! Worst form I have ever seen before in my life, a lot of guys do flat bench 3-5x a week.

Preacher Curls I see so many people doing these in an attempt to build massive biceps.. but I rarely see standing barbell curls!

Seated Cable Rows But you barely EVER see anyone doing bentover rows or deadlifts or t-bar rows or pullups.

Haha a lot of my friends in highschool do the same old exercises DAY after DAY acheiving no noticeable results at all its just really sad to be honest. You try to give them tips and they just shrug their shoulders like 'I know what I am talking about...'

I would say alternate dumbell curls, incline bench, pulldowns, etc. I have never seen anyone at my gym do preacher curls or bent over rows. I do bent over rows alot, deadlifts, too. I guess im just not normal.

Db-curls

Using waaaay too heavy db:s and swinging up the weights.
Even more funny is to see them flex their biceps afterwards :FRlol:

People doing triceps pushdowns.... While being a decent triceps exercise these people really should start doing / including:

- weighted dips
- california presses or close grip bencpresses

Whats the right way to do these??

I do them with my back up against a wall so I can't arch my back.
Also I make a concious effort to touch the BB to my thigh
and then my chest so I make sure I'm getting full ROM.

I see so many people with the weight going down no more than half way and then back up.. useless

Another way NOT to cheat is to lean forward on an incline bench. Make sure your feet don't touch the floor. That way your most likely working your bi-cep and not your back.
