Does size equal functionality?

In my opinion size does not equal strength. A perfect example is Jimmy Dean. All natural with some of the most impressive lifts I've ever seen much of which rival the lifts of enhanced PLr's. Not the biggest guy although naturally he's not small. But perfect form in everything equals his claim to fame. The little bit of training I've done in powerlifting with PLJ and JD I've seen that strength seems to come from experience and techinique if that makes sence. I've trained in body building for years and always had an impressive squat with very good form. But after training with these guys I've learned that just fine tuning things in your techinique can make major differences. So much so I actually went from a 500lb squat to 650 over 2 months time off gear. In that time I actually lost some size which kinda contradicts the old size = strength theory.

...and add to that mental strength. Some people can focus better than others. This, too, is a learned art.

Gaining size will make you stronger.
However being stronger has no direct correlation with size as it could be due to various neural reasons.

Am I wrong in this assertion, anyone?

Here are a few pics that will take you to proof that size does not equal functional strength at all.

Brad is 5'4" tall...maybe 5'5" on a tall day. Odd Haugden is 52 I think. Ms. Bissionette is in her 60's, and the last guy from Ohio is 16. Anyone can do anything...if they will just believe.

one has to be careful how we explain this---i always tell people to bet big you have to get strong. jimmie dean is a big dude with sneaky muscles which i mean when he flexes they show up. any one over 250 is big but he is not your body builder type big. he does not care to look or train that way but he is by far 1 of the best power lifters i've seen. he is a sleeper like the street car that looks stock but has $10,000 in the engine. but in my opinion getting stronger will get you bigger ,you would have to in your frame to support the weights, but on the other hand getting bigger wont make you stronger.ARE YOU CONFUSED YET

gettin stronger and training for strength you eat more(power lifters are always trying to make weight--hence getting bigger---jay you got stronger and went from 190 to 250) thus you get bigger.....but not all big people are power lifting strong.

so juice junkie is correct that size does not equal strength--but training for strength and power will produce size(its a good side effect) alot of pro buildy builders started out as power lifters to get their thicknessLIFT HEAVY AND UNLESS YOU HAVE A BODY THAT WILL NOT GROW YOU WILL GET BIGGER
tell me if im wrong but i've never seen a good, top power lifter that is small
