did rack deadlifts... did`nt really like em

Nope...not just you. It's the nature of the movement....it's just awkward.

The problem with rack pulls is that it puts you in awkward positions that you are never in during a real pull.

EXACTLY! Holy shit, I thought it was just me and I was doing them wrong. (of course I could still be doing them wrong) I thought it would just be "the end of a regular deadlift" but it`s not. to me at least, but again it`s the first time and it just feels weird.

With regular deads I barely scrape my legs but these I got burned. lol

It feels great for me.

yep reset the bar before pulling for another rep

use anywhere from the floor to 1" from lock out.

depends what you want to achieve

I`m trying to target my upper back and traps, shoulders. Does that mean I can go higher with the pins?

Also how far away from your legs do you set the bar down at? touching your legs? an inch away?

Gonelifting it was very akward for me as well. When I did them, they were right at the knee, with my knees touching the bar, my back arched very hard and at 45 degree angle, and my legs slightly bent. I would begin to pull by flexing my traps and back really hard to stabilize the weight, and simulteneously push off with the legs and extend the back.

i usually place the bar right on my thigh about 1 inch above my knee. each week lowering it or raising it a pin.

(i dont do these at the moment due to current training)

I used them NOT to strengthen my deadlift, i used them for overload of the muscles involved and my grip
