Developing lower outer chest

Busta

New member
Some people say to try decline others say its a waste, any ideas how I can get this part of my chest bigger? Its a bit fatty no real muscle the rest of my chest is fine just htis part is lacking.

Thanks bros,

Busta

This is an interesting approach......

Chest is one muscle

Both the clavicular and sternal pectorals major function as a single force-producing muscle because of how they are attached, their innervations, and their functions. You cannot separate them short of breaking your neck (this would kill the innervations, rendering the muscle inusable). So, upper and lower chest = one muscle for all practical purposes. Now, when you put the bench on an incline position you put the shoulders in a stronger position and the chest in a weaker position. This means that the shoulders will do more work, and the chest less. If you put a bench on a decline, the involvement of the shoulders is minimized, and the chest is put in it's strongest position, thus the chest will do more work, and the shoulders less. Since the upper and lower chest work completely together regardless of bench positioning, the decline will work the upper chest more than the incline for the reasons above.

Cant wait for the replies on this one......

Hey punkass, that was a cool post. I have no idea about that sort of thing, I am more like, " Me work out more, me get more bigger." - but I never liked those damn inclines anyway!:)

Hehe, I love declines.

Mo kah-mah fo yu. :)

Thanks pikey, I love them declines to.
my chest routine is flat warm-ups, decline db's, weighted dips, and flys..

Busta, you prolly just need to lower the ol body fat a little and your there. And some say that yohimburn works wonders in that area, going to try it myself soon.....

Good reply punkass what you said makes sense but why do I always hear that declines are a waste of time? So from what you are saying there is no real way to isolate differnet areas of the chest?

Punkass yohimburn is a topical gel like cutting gel? Does it require a lot of cardio also. My BF is not that high I would say 10-11% but I am trying to lower it to single digits.

isolate no, emphasis maybe. From what I've read yohimburn is great, i guess it is like cutting gel but better. there is a good post by macro i believe. hold on I'll search.....

I have the same problem, my lower chest needs more work than any other part. What I found works is flat bech and bringing the bar to your nipple level. As it is quite common for people to use their delts too much on flat bench.
