Deadlifting my way to Happiness - Al420's log

Nice deadlifting, Al.

The close-grip on bench, even if you only use it for a few months, really hammers home to technique for everybody for some reason.

I just need to train the lift harder but my damn shoulder is preventing it. To be honest I hate benching b/c of how weak I percieve myself - only room to improve is what I have to remember.
Don't worry about anyone else while your there.

You're there to bench. Every week you progress while you see those same kids coming in and doing 1/2 reps with weight on the bench using wide ass grip.

Screw 'em... you'll have a bigger bench, as will I. I'm looking forward to 225 in a few weeks hopefully.

Shit, I very rarley see ANYONE benching properly. All the gym rats I see doing it stop one-two inches from their chest and don't even take a split second to pause, go right back at it. I used to do that, I changed my form and my bench went from 185 back down to 155. It's back to 185 now but it took me about 3 and a half weeks.

I'd rather do it like a man and feel like a bitch with the numbers, then to do it like a bitch to feel like a man. Numbers will come.

The best part of my lifting yesterday was the shirt FF and his wife made me for my birthday -
