Changing training while cutting?

I know many people say the only difference between cutting and bulking is overall calorie intake and cardio verses training styles. However, I have been following DC's training for a few months now and am getting ready to start cutting. While I love his plan for bulking, his ideas on cutting (ie increased cardio) does not seem the best for me. I always do 3-4 days of low intensity cardio a week already, and consistently eat clean so "fixing" those two areas is harder to do. I really like DC's training because you are hitting a large part of your body each workout. What I am wondering is what training styles you would recommend while cutting to preserve muscle, and possibly increase strength (I know I won't gain any muscle). Anybody recommend Corhholio's 3 day a week routine for cutting?
Thanks, by the way, current bodyfat is about 8%, at 180 and 5'8. Trying to get real low at like 5 or 6% if possible.

Split routines aren't that great for cutting. The overall amount of calories burned through lifting (which can be significant) is much reduced if you only do one musclegroup. Seriously, I think DC would be fine for cutting. Just eat less and keep doing your cardio.

Since you're already super-low bodyfat looking to get lower, here's an article on getting rid of really stubborn bodyfat:

Thanks guys...ya I am not really excited about going back to a one a day a week split. I trained with a few variations of that for over 2 years straight. Also, thanks for the article, really gave some good insights. Possibly toss in some yohimbine in with the cardio plan?

I follow my usual routine ith basically the same weights when cutting , as what I used to build the muscle will help me keep in in a calories deficient state. I just train a little faster and add some cardio

Ya, thats what most people seem to do. Might end up sticking with DC method, it just seems that if your cutting and not really increasing reps or weight, then DC's whole principle of overloading is being ignored. Also, I already do cardio even when not cutting (pretty strong endomorphic tendencies) so just adding cardio won't help. The other main problem I am seeing with DC's workout is the disproportionate gains I am getting. Typical to my genetics, my legs grow like weeds (ATF Squat 355 x 6 perfect form and 290 x20) but my chest refuses to grow (been stuck on barbell bench 210x13 rp for weeks). Since I have hit a wall, and was planning on cutting soon anyways, I thought I might change routines.

dude... forget cardio alltogether.

you say you're at 8% and wanna get down to 6%.

that should be a piece of cake. no more than 4 weeks at most if you cut your cals by 300-500 a day.

watch your carbs at night too.

I hear what you're saying...

With DC training you kinda depend upon strength gains to make muscle gains, which in turn feed more strength gains. If you don't get on that loop, there probably won't be ANY gains.

HST is a good alternative to DC. It has the same core principles but you don't need to make strength gains to have progressive load. ---> www.hsnhst.com

damn i wish i was 8%. soon enough though, im around 20 right now, just gotta cut and do tons of cardio. my goal is 8 to 10%.

by the way...

i did a 10 week sustanon only cycle.. well with efedrine and some clen in the middle.

was 192, 16%bf
now 192 9%bf

same training routines but a.m cardio a few times a week.
low carbs other than pre and post workouts.

its not easy but attainable.
