Carbs really bad while on GH???

There was a post yesterday that carbs and GH are not a good idea due to insulin sensitivity from the GH. I have been eating clean carbs the entire time on GH (2 months), im having good results but am i short changing myself as far at fatloss???..im not looking to lose anymore than 10lbs and I want to keep as much muscle as possible..what do you guys think?? I dont like low-carb diets as i feel i lose weight and muscle too fast.

Low carb is "ok". GH causes increased insulin resistance so you DO want to watch the carbs. It may effect short term fat loss as well as long term fat loss (anytime you are slin resistant=fat gain).

Carbs + ala/cla/alcar/green tea..........smart/healthy idea while on GH ;)

It's my understanding that a low dose of gh increases insulin sensitivity, while high doses reduce it.

Regardless, gh has a brief half life -- I've read from 30 min to 2 hours -- so I just try to avoid carbs for a few hours around my morning stick.

Insulin resisitance from GH is NOT an "hourly" phenomenom. It is an effect that becomes progressively more permanent (and FULL-time) the longer you're on.....albeit, reversible (to a degree) if GH use is abated.

It will effect the way your muscle cells react to glucose (less uptake---BAD) and the way your fat cells react to glucose (more uptake----WORSE).

So, a moderately low carbohydrate diet is optimal avoid furthering this insulin resistance.

Also, supplementation with ala/cla/green tea/alcar can ALL provide benefit to GH users by increasing insulin sensitivity to compensate for the reverse.

is ALA with every meal still beneficial even on a low/no carb diet????

As an anti-oxidant and liver detoxifier----YES. Also, any meals OVER 50 grams protein, ala would be a good idea here as well.

Most people do not account for the insulin response that coincides with higher levels of amino acids inducing insulin release (sometimes significant with those who consume 80 grams+ per sitting). THIS is one of the main failures in people LOW-CARBING/trying to remain in ketosis...........they are consuming MASS quantites of protein (not carbs) which toss them out of ketosis!

So-----yes, not a bad idea ;)

what about just taking insulin?

Insulin + GH = Seriously exposing yourself to the hazards of Syndrome X (read about it). As the insulin receptors are already dulled/IN-sensitive, to further bombard your slin receptors with MORE insulin is a recipe for disaster IMO. I'm of the school of thought GH + Insulin = Adult Onset Diabetes!!

Naysayers, disagree all you want, it's simple endocrinology and physiology!!!
