My g/f has found out she has gestational diabetes. (she's preganat)

Now for fun, I have been getting my blood sugar checked with that machine she uses...

After eating ice cream... one hour later my Blood sugar level was 5.0 or something... hers was 6.9 or maybe higher. This shows that my body can process sugar better.
Does that mean my body should eat higher carbs?

This is a canadaina machine... I know machines from the usa have a different readout method.

ice cream will definately make you isnulin spike. That's why your blood sugar level is so high. If you eat some bread after that you can bring it down a little. But I would take advantage of the situation and take in some protein. When your insulin is spiking your body absorbs anything that you give it (including fat). That's why I usually go get some non-fat low sugar ice cream as a post workout meal so my insulin will spike then I go strait home and have a protein shake. Chromium will definately help with insulin sensitivity also.
