I got an average question...My calves are pretty meaty and REALLY cut, but i need some mass, what are the best calve mass exercises and what weight...i do calf raises with 360 and sets of 10 for 4 sets..more weight?..different exercies?

There are a bunch of different calf exercises.. 2 of the most basic are standing calf raises and seated calf raises... I would suggest varying things up. Training your calves 2x per week with both exericses. On the first day start w/ standing and the 2nd day start with seated. On one day use higher reps 12-25 and the other day train with lower type reps 6-12. That way youll be sure to flame all the muscle fibers and keep your muscles guessing. Thats what has always worked for me. Good luck!

Tuna Guy..

I dont know bro in my opininon forearms and calves come pretty close.... I mean my forearms are so fucking hurtin when I superset wrist roller with barbell static holds....

:P:P

Standing and Sitting Calf Raises with Heavy weight. I am currently doing standing with 600# and, unlike the rest of my body, my calves are "freaky":D

i dont know how much you weigh but look at it like this..........(its an idea from Arnold S.)

say you weigh 250lbs.....you can stand on one foot and do a calve raise with your body weight.

if each calve can do that .......... then if your doing calve raises with 500 lbs at a weight of 250lbs... your not really working the muscle.

thats why arnold went up to using 1000 lbs on calves............. what was the result......

oh yeah........ 20 inch calves.

im only 220 lbs and 20 years old..... but i do rasies with 700 lbs........ im not eceptional strong on calves, juiced, or even all that genitically gifted in the calf region......... i just use Arnolds common sense.

good luck

arnold's a fooking dumbass. If your 250lbs and are calf raising 500, that is not like lifting your body weight. That is like lifting 500+your body weight.

Yo man are you talking about me or nah? I didnt say anything about what your talking about but neither did calvesodeath I dont think so I lost you bro.

haha opps, I quoted the wrong person. I meant to quote exodus, not calvesodeath. I'm still not used to elite having the edit option below the name. All the other forums has it above.

Here is what I meant to say

Arnold's theory here is a 250 lber lifting 500 lbs on the standing calf machine isn't working their muscle because that is just like lifting your own body weight without weight added on one foot. Arnold is incorrect (like many of his theories). If a 250 lber is lifting 500 lbs on the calf raise, you then have to add his body weight to the equation, which equals 750lbs lifted.
