Hit 375 raw on flat bench today for 2 reps (all me)...I probably could have gotten one more but I didn't want my partner deadlifting the bar off of my throat 
Anyway, I'm trying to hit 405 by December and so far (last few months) I've been on a pretty low volume, low reps (1-3 for work sets) program. Is it necessary for me to switch to a higher volume/rep program for a couple months to let my body recover? If so, can I go back to a lower volume/rep schedule again afterwards?
