I have about 8 weeks till a bench meet I have been told time and time agin to JUST train bench I need a little help coming up with a program to hit it HARD and fully recover I dont have time to order gear so im gonna go clean last year I benched 425 weiging 241 im gonna try 405 at 220 this year. im thinking chest,sholders, and tris on monday...back & bis wed.....lite chest and tris on fri...thanks in advance bros
 
Where in TN are you located? I am in KY.

I'd shoot to the powerlifting board...you will get the best advice there...

I have a friend who is natural here in Oklahoma who weighs 219 and can hit 420 on bench for a single. He is an extraordinary powerlifter, as he has squatted 605lbs in competition. His training methods are way different than mine :). His typical bench workout might look like this:

135 x 5
225 x 5
315 x 3
365 x 3 w/belt, bench shirt, wrist wraps and deep arc
405 x 1 w/belt, bench shirt, wrist wraps and deep arc
425 x 1 w/belt, bench shirt, wrist wraps and deep arc

towards his competition, he will really focus on pausing. This workout above will last an hour :). He takes long rests in between sets. Afterwards he will perform some incline work, with 3 x 5. Very strange.
 
There is a powerlifting board here on Elite. A good one...lots of TOP benchers too...

I am 2 hours North of Nashville. You are near Mont Eagle?

I live about 3hrs from you.I have been to tullahoma several times,nice area.Have you heard of kingston or crossville?I live in that area.

Where in OK? We have been recruiting more and more Okies. Just added Vulgar Display of Power to the group. Now we have members from Tulsa (me) Stillwater (bigokie) and OKC (VDOP) as well as a recent Arkansas transplant (Screwball).

Holler at me sometime and maybe we can train together if you don't live out in the panhandle somewhere.
