Anyone ever tried this for chest?

U can also do some floor pressing. Or use a 4x4 on your chest . Youtube stan efferding super training chest u will c what im talking

i saw a couple fat powerlifter dudes doing this at my gym a week ago. so i guess its pretty standard if that is your goal

Nope. Not my goal to be a fat powerlifter. But to increase my strength in my chest by doing this exercise...sounds like a good thing to me. Heard good things from it. So will give it a try. And the dude at my work who is almost 60 who does it...not fat at all. :)
 
I have seen it in several routines. Times vary. Was used on squats, bench, shrugs, deadlift, etc. Kinda of like a slow tempo. Increases time under tention at the stopping, or "weak" point. Saw ones where people pause at mid point and ones at start also.

Its usually beneficial to change your tempo, rep range, rest times, etc. to mix things up and keep progression going.
