Does anyone else here hate concentration curls....maybe im doin something wrong...but I just cant do them... I can never seem to get the dumbell all the way up.. And i know that means im using too much weight...but if i keep going dowm Im goin to be doing like 10 pounds!!
My current bicep routine:
3 sets Hammer curls
3 sets concentration
3 sets Standing Barbell curls
All done after a full back work out
Any suggestions...please suggest only exercises to do with free weights as I work out at home! Thanks alot!

I suggest you drop them completely, they are a "peak contraction" exercise which makes them less than optimal (read shitty) for muscle growth.

Nah I definitely dont think that concentration curls are a good peak contraction exercise... Arnold really swore by them. He did them a little bit differently though he actually did them standing up rather than sitting down. I prefer to do them sitting down really squeezing the muscle hard at the top. Good luck!

3 sets Hammer curls
3 sets concentration

or
3 sets Hammer curls
3 sets Standing Barbell curls

put the ones that are for mass first..

If you don't like concentrations, take a page from Larry Scott. Many argue that he had the best biceps ever, and he did his entire workout on the preacher bench. Try throwing in 2-3 sets of preacher curls -I like dumbell one arm at a time- instead of concentrations.

I'm with Justin, do standing barbell first, Save concentrations/jpreachers till last. Also, 9 sets for bis might be too much after a full back day. When I did back/bis together (deads, wide grip pulldowns, t-bar rows, cable rows) I did 5 sets for bis afterward and sometimes cut it to 4 or 3. Did three sets standing barbell, 0-2 sets of seated one arm dumbell preachers.

good luck
