anybody own an italian greyhound dog?

Had 4 "IG"s a few years ago, didn't really have a good place to keep them. Was kind of cruel to put a dog like that inside for most of the day. Downstairs neighbors complained about the sound of dog running in a circle all day!
Will anwer any questions. Bones in legs are kind of fragile, you can see the way they back off if you rush them although one of mine slammed real hard into a moving car, and was not seriously hurt.
They love to run on the beach sand, it's soft on their feet so they can get up to speed, (pedal a race bike as fast as you can and watch them blow by you--35mph? the big greyhounds twice as big are only about another 5 mph faster)
This was before many knew about them, the tourists asked questions
the neighborhood kids asked me to let them walk the dog, called it a pussy magnet, and a fair amount of riddicule calling it a "fag dog".
The ones I had were large and solid color, not great breed confirmations, so were about $400 each from varous random sources, probably puppy farms, there are a couple decent places in Florida, see if I can locate. Just have to hunt for a breeder with one about the right age.

Ive got an Italian Greyhound named Rocky.

2 yrs old, weighs 9 lbs.

he's an awesome dog..they look pretty feeble but Rocky is tough as hell.

the hair is very fine and not much shedding at all.. never noticable..

He's perfect for my 1br condo, he runs around and jumps across furniture as if he were a cat.

Im 6'3", he can jump from the ground into my arms.

There are pics of him on a past thread from about 6 months- 1 yr ago

They are very succeptible to broken bones but from the looks of your other pets, it doesn't seem like you "roughouse" too much with them.

They are a little shaky too and nervous. But at least they don't bite people and get you sued.

I had two Whippets and they were way better. Sort of in between a greyhound and an Italian greyhound. Very cool, not nervous, not too big, not too small. Friendly. Not insane. But Westies are still the best.

Chihuahuas rock as far as little dogs go..
Nobody will get near your place without them hearing it and tearing out to the door/window like a doberman. Very smart dogs.
Toss out the taco bell dog image as they are the teacup breed.

If you like the greyhound look, you should locate a local retired race dog adoption program and get a standard one free.

Mine seems to be pretty sturdy. We play rough and have no problems.. Only time he showed weakness was when he jumped out of my arms and landed on his head.. He wimpered for a couple seconds and then was back in action.

They might be as small as a cat, or smaller, but they don't land on all four paws.
