Hey Guys
I'm 6'1, 192lbs (fight/compete at 175)
So I train MMA with a concentration in BJJ. I havent fought in MMA tournaments but have competed in BJJ. I also go to the gym 5 days a week. I enjoy my workouts but I start to get bored, they were just to get me some definitiona nd stuff but now I want to focus on stamina and strength for an upcoming BJJ tournament in November.

I was wondering if anybody had a workout plan they could share, or something to help increase my stamina and strength. Biggest problem is when I go to the gym it is often kind of busy and it's the only time I can really go. therefore I can't really focus on workouts that involve a few machines at once as usually someone is on one of them.

Any suggestions or anything would be appreciated

I would say for your carido workouts you can always run a plyometrics and for core more of a yoga style routine for flexibility. Your workouts shouldnt change to much. As much explosive power as possible. If I was really training towards fighting dont know if I would try finding more of a strong man type gym with sleds and such to really work on explosive power IMO. What it really comes down to though is whats your style if your mainly a BJJ fighter than technique is gonna be more important then your strength. Carido is always a huge factor as long as your on the ground.

For strength I would run a 5 sets of 5 routine.

I dont know from experience just know what my buddy used to run and he fights mma now 155 class hes 5'11 brutal ground and pound. best of luck to you.

i would opt for a HIIT routine for endurance, focus on improving core strength (deadlift, squats, cleans) and also find a sparring partner at the dojo that is in higher weight class.

I'd say the exact same thing, but if you're competing in bjj tourney soon then id still try and grapple as much as possible still.

I have a Muay Thai and Boxing background combined with street brawling.

I fight ands train MMA now and 2 nights a week BJJ 1 night a week each of boxing and Muay Thai and 6 days a week doing strength and conditioning in the gym. Sunday is a full day of rest.

I also try to work 2 exercises side by side in the gym to get the heart rate going and keep moving continually so my rest period for bench will be spent doing abs and my bicep curl rest will be spent doing tri's.

Stuff like that. Continual work the whole time (normally 90mins a day) I'm there is the most important for me. After all there's no let up when you're in the octagon it's work or be killed...

Crossfit seems to be picking up steam around here, olympic lifts done for time rather than reps... should help with endurance & fatigue

I like madcow 5x5 3 days a week HIIT 2 days a week to go with bjj six times a week and one day of muay thai, that is my current split
