Anavar= Water Retention

Sassy69 said:
What Shadow said - that's just the way it is in the "game".

But before we get all worked up about the var, yes, can you say what brand it is?

How long have you been on it? Less than a week? If yes, probably no results yet. If there's a way to split the dosage you can do that and work up if you are concerned about too much.

Water retention-wise -- is there anything else in your diet or your life that it coudl be from? That time of month? Eating salt? Carb up? Have you tracked how your body responds to your diet / changes in your diet, i.e.how you respond to different types of carbs? Same w/ fats? Salt in your protein? Enough water? etc?

Bottom line:

If it IS real var - water retention is stemming from something else.

You can do a fairly accurate split by dumping several caps into something its soluble in and using a syringe.

Like CC said, everyone responds differently.

Myself, I have tried FOUR different brands of Var over the last few years, and NEVER experienced water retention. Not from any brand, not from any dose. I have tried PaperVar, Brit Drag, Denkall, and SPA. My doses have gone from 2.5mg-15mg. Never felt ANY water retention. Almost the opposite - I felt tighter from it, LESS bloated.

I have to agree with with Shadow here. I have doubts on it's legitimacy. I ahve NEVER heard of 12.5mg ANYTHING, let along pharm brand Var. Maybe it is legit, but the sides and the dose make it suspicious.

I know this kind of stuff is alway a senstive subject. Ischia99, no ones trying to put you on the defense, just trying to offer advice based on what thry know and experience :)

What phamaeutical company is it??

Prescription Oxandrolone or var - brand name Oxandrin - they come in 2.5 OR 10.0 mg TABLETS only

Winny - 2mg tabs from the pharmacy manufactured by WInthrop

underground winny - tabs and capsules.

underground Var - tabs and capsules

The fact that:

1 - Oxandrin(Prescription name) does not come in 12.5 mg strength
2 - Oxandrin does not come in Capsules
3 - YOu are haing water retention issues...could be from a lot of things...it will NOT be from REAL var

YOu had a doctor prescribe the var and you received directly from the phrarmacy??

You mentioned earlier that a "connection" got it.....

was it a connection or a dcotors script??

If it wasnt thru a legit doctor - you have NO IDEA what you are taking....

The second reason why Oxandrolone is so popular is that this compound does not aromatize in any dosage. As already mentioned, a certain part of the testosterone present in the body is converted into estrogen. This aromatization process, depending on the predisposition, can vary distinctly from the athlete to another. Oxandrolone is one of the few steroids which cannot aromatize to estrogen. This characteristic has various advantages for the athlete. With Oxandrolone the muscle system does not get the typical watery appearance as with many steroids, thus making it very interesting during the preparation for a competiton. In this phase it is especially important to keep the estrogen level as low as possible since estrogen programs the body to store water even if the diet is calorie-reduced.

Okay I gotcha.. your right.. That is the name of the anavar I purchased.. however, they compounded the tabs into capsules that is the reason for the increase in dosage in each capsule. Is that possible in your opinion??to have tablets compounded into capsules therefore yielding the amount of anavar in each capsule to be higher than the standard tablet??

It has not even been a week since I have been on the var, it will be a week on Monday. I am not on anything else, just the var.. If you recall Shadow, I had asked about taking the winnie and you felt that the var was better so I took your advice on that... No real results yet.. I do know that some of the water retention is from the high intake of fiber (broccoli, spinach..) after consuming these types of carbs I get really bloated.. Right now I am on day two of my carb load the water retention went down...( I actually dont ever deplete carbs I just change the type of carbs i consume when I carb cycle.. and increase proteins and fats depending on the type of training being done on those days)...

"The Connection" is someone in a pharmaceutical company here in the states who obtains prescriptions from doctors to obtain these drugs in a legit manner.. I understand that I can not display any more info due to the message board rules & regs...

Okay thanks for posting.. and I apologize again if i came off the wrong way intially.. sometimes through these posts you can not distinguish a persons tone or train of thought.

Thanks Shadow..

I will keep you updated on the results..

Hi ya Sassy.. :)

I have been on the var less than a week, I started on Monday. I drink about 1.5- 2 gallons of water daily.

I dont add salt in my food, however i know that chicken has sodium in it ( i boil it though to get as much out of it as possible :worried: )... Only intake sodium if the foods i eat already have it in there..

Not that time of month.. my last cycle was last week..and its weird but i didnt suffer much water retention.. do you think a delayed reaction is possible??

I am now day 2 of my carb load and i noticed that the water is depleting a bit.. the fats I intake are 1 tablespoon of flax seed in my shake, sometimes a tablespoon of PB thats about it..

what do you think??

The couple things I would say are - you are only on less than a week -- give it 1-2 weeks to "see" any results. As far as bloating from the broccoli, I cannot say how much "Beano" and Digestive Enzymes have been a godsend for me. I bloat immediately on broccoli - -I've been takign 2 Digestive Enzymes (you can get at GNC or just about any health food place) with each protein + veggies meal.

The water retention still could be related to anythign because it doesnt' sound like its been going on a long time and just happened to coincide w/ starting the var. If it continues for several days after you've done the carb rotation and dealt w/ the broccoli bloat, then we can consider it more closely. When you are dieting clean it seems like just about anything can set off a stomach ache or water retention, so its hard to pinpoint and say its a problem unless it is persistant.

What kind of carbs are you loading on?

On Carb Load days I eat starchy carbs.. Like yams, oatmeal, rice cakes, thats about it.. On the carb cycle days: Just green veggies, i only have a yam after a workout and I reduce the amount of oatmeal in the morning from 1/2 cup to 1/3 with my egg whites.. what do you think??
