All these little lifting quirks

I've been on these boards for a few months, and have tried to be as involved and helpful as I can be, but I'm getting annoyed with some of these little quirks people always post. Such as the post about energy drinks, where someone said you don't want an insuling spike in the middle of your workout. I mean, really, is it that big of a deal to have an energy boost. I think people look at these things too hard. Personally, I believe if you eat good, rest enough, and train your ass off, you will see great gains and will always get stronger, regardless of these stupid little things people always point out. If something works for one person, and someone else says it's wrong or doesn't work, then I think that person is a fool. Do what works for you, take advice, but always find what works for you.

I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to learn about or research the particulars; however, nit-picking about the particulars IN PLACE of shutting the hell up and WORKING is ridiculous.

I think you seriously contradicted yourself ;)

Doing what works for the individual is great. However for many, little "quirks" actually alter their performance and results. That means they are something to worry about and warrant mentioning.

While people posting negative stuff about such "quirks" can be annoying, especially if you're different to they are in that respect and don't see why they're bothering even saying it, they might be helping somebody work out a problem they are having.

I can't talk, when it comes to "details." I love the science behind the mayhem. It has been my personal experience that the people that get the most annoyed with it tend to be the people who don't understand it (scientifically) enough to care, and frankly they don't WANT to understand it. I can respect that; it's not everyone's cup of tea. Doesn't mean the rest of us shouldn't be able to carry on as intended. If you don't like it, don't read/reply. As long as it's on topic, I think you should feel free to post about whatever you want without being worried about boring or offending anyone.

Just my .69 (inflation :D )

See my signature. Arguing the particulars is something I do between training just for fun.

Funny you should mention that...on a bit of a related tangent I remember when I introduced you to bands for AR. Your question was always "why"...and I completely respected that about you (still do)...and you hated that I didn't really have an answer. However, while we were tryin to figure it out you were using them and getting results.

Do what works, and figure out why it works along the way. Never get complacent and never think you know it all.

I go crazy if I can't have my post workout protein shake and cranberry juice within 10mins of lifting.

not too sure how long you have been lifting but when you get to a certain point over the years it is the "little nit picky things" that will make all the difference bro
