Never heard of that. From what I know, the body compensates for getting less calories by burning muscle and lowering calorie requirements. So if for 6 days you eat 2400 calories then your body will adjust a bit. If you eat 4000 on the 7th day your body will still be adjusted to your 2400 calorie diet.
But then again that one 4000 calorie day might tell your body that it is getting enough calories again and your metabolism might go back up.
But in the end, I say keep it simple. If I'm not 100% sure that a 4000 calorie 7th day helps I'd stick with what I know works, 2400 calorie day.
