Central rivals Columbus and St. Louis renew hostilities Wednesday when the Blues visit the Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena.

The Blues play into revenge Wednesday, after handing Columbus a 5-3 defeat in the last meeting back on March 13, 2004.

Oddsmakers like the Blue Jackets in this one, opening the line at 140 in favor of Columbus. They are 4-11-0 this season, while the Blues are 2-9-3.

Mike Kitchen's troops hosted Detroit last game and came away with a 4-1 loss, a game that went under 6.5. Oddsmakers had them as 200 underdogs in that one.

Gerard Gallant's team was busy last game losing to Vancouver 5-3 as 320 underdogs. The 8 goals sent that game over the total of 6.

You can't expect much in the way of offensive fireworks from Columbus. Saddled with the 30th-ranked offence and averaging just 1.9 goals per game the Blue Jackets' offence needs to give its defensive unit some help Wednesday in order to have a chance against the Blues.

Some trends to consider:
St. Louis is 1-6-0 SU in its last 7 games after scoring 1 to 2 goals
St. Louis is 1-3-3 OU in its last 7 games away against Columbus
St. Louis is 2-2-2 OU in its last 6 games against Columbus
St. Louis is 4-1-0 OU in its last 5 away
Columbus is 2-2-2 OU in its last 6 games against St. Louis
