Coyotes visit the Oilers

The Oilers will be fighting to end a 3-game losing skid when they host the Phoenix Coyotes Tuesday at Rexall Place.

Edmonton brings a 3-3-0 overall mark (2-1-0 in the division) into this game versus a Phoenix team carrying a 2-4-1 record.

The Oilers are favored, opening as 200 chalk, with an opening total of 6. They are 3-3-0 this season and 2-3-1 OU. The Coyotes are 2-4-1 and are 1-6-0 OU.

Last time out, at Pengrowth Saddledome against Calgary, the Coyotes as underdogs defeated the Flames 2-0. The game was an under play.

Craig MacTavish's team was busy last game losing to Calgary 3-0 as 140 underdogs. The 3 goals sent that game under the total of 6.

With the league's #28-ranked offence, Phoenix either needs a breakout game or it's up to the defence to keep them in this one. The Coyotes average just 2.0 goals per game.

Some trends to consider:
Phoenix is 2-14-3 SU in its last 19 games after scoring 1 to 2 goals
Phoenix is 1-8-0 OU in its last 9 games
Phoenix is 5-1-0 OU in its last 6 games away against Edmonton
Phoenix is 5-0-0 OU in its last 5 games against Edmonton
Edmonton is 5-0-0 OU in its last 5 games against Phoenix
Edmonton is 5-1-0 OU in its last 6 games at home against Phoenix
Edmonton is 5-2-0 OU in its last 7 at home
Edmonton is 4-1-1 SU in its last 6 games after being shutout
