I think it is partially due to lifting as early as 10 years old, and doing curls and shoulders with barbells, then wrestling in HS and College.
That aside what really made my arms huge was Russian D-bol.
Thats true, When I was about that age, since I didnt have a weight set or anything, just weights, I would set them on my back and do pushups. It really helped.
