Wow!!fellow iron pumpers don't miss this!!

Thank You Zyglamail!! Yes, I know that gains and growing is done out of the Gym. But, it is very hard for Me to hold back. I'm sure there has been
overtraining on My part but, I also train My Son 16 5' 10, 145Lbs. Bench 265 (started at 140 1 1/2 years ago) and His Bud 18 ( He just started a few months ago) so We spot each other and Hit it hard, that's part of the time consumed with Him it has gone to almost 4+ hours per session sometimes longer
on day off Chest, back, calves, abs, neck, traps day. LONG DAY!! I push Them hard literally watching Them grow and get stronger every workout, pretty cool!!
I would have Loved to had that at Their ages!! But, none the less I am lifting at least 2 1/2 hours steady even with that 3-4 Days a week no sitting and talking only time spent otherwise checking Their technique. (still too much I know)
Concentrating on alternating methods as far as heavy then drop sets then negatives. Free weights, cables, machines, dumbbells etc....
Long regiminedesined by CPT and Myself. Very complex and detailed workouts hitting every muscle group. And each aspect of
that muscle group. Different methods, grips (pro-nated supinated) , techniques. I will write about it when I get time. Lots of alternating Muscle groups to avoid fatigue and lots of push-pull. Are workouts are so vigorous they provide cardio as well while lifting but, I also do cardio in non-lifting days.
Goals: To be and Look in the BEST shape of My Life and the strongest every aspect. Wanna be Huge and Cut after I get the desired bulk.
I want ALL muscles to be there, Example: Guy in My Gym benches 405 can't budge cable fly 50 Lbs. very 1 sided plan.
I put in the effort and the time in the Gym and My diet and Lifestyle, No Booze or other stuff. All healthy eating and drinking. Have
givin up a lot of stuff to get where I am now.
That's why I am looking HERE for some help!!
Thanks for Your time. Glad To Be Alive!!

if you want to make gains you need to balance the equation.. either eat more and sleep more .. or train less.

but.. there is a certain amount of volume/work that you just cant eat or rest enough to recover from.

its not the guy who works the hardest.. its the guy who works the smartest.

Gladtobealive although I appreciate your confidence, you come off a little condescending here. That advice being given is to incorporate more rest and to do a little research.

You "want to get huge"? I'm sure you will! Just do your due diligence. Good luck, Bro. Post your proposed cycle and PCT and we'll help you out.

Judo Tom,
I was hoping You seen some gaps or holes in My diet and had some advise for Me from Your 1st post. I know
My routine is a tough one I suffer from it. Sore all the time. I have to take a week off, next week for Charity so
will give Me 7 days of much needed rest from Lifting. Thanks for reading and for the help, I appreciatte it.
It is hard to let off with these teenagers, They are addicted to the soreness. They both got into a little trouble
and so now instead of being into things that are bad for Them, I got Them into Physical Fitness, Rather have Them
addicted to that than other things. Good Kids just got around the wrong crowd for a quick minute, guess We've all
been there?
I also have a Personality that leads Me over the Top on EVERYTHING I do, sometimes thats a good thing and sometimes
it comes back to bite Me on the a**.

Hello thesvpdeal,
I am here for help, and CERTAINLY don't mean to sound condescending here!! So, if I came off that way I
didn't mean to for sure. Sarcasm won't gain Me any Friends. Please also read the above with the teenagers
issue. I have made a committment to Them as well as Myself, and They have fallen in Love with working out
and unfortunetly for Me recouperation time is different.
I DO need more rest but, if You have read all the lengthy posts (and sorry for that I am very thorough though)
I thought I would be semi-retired by now and unfortunetly now I am starting all over except the difference is this
time I'm twice the age I was the 1st time. So schedule is so very hectic right now and it is sometimes 'hard to see from inside the ring'
(I boxed for 3 years looooong time ago) so I do appreciatte and value greatly Your input and also the time that You have taken
from Your Life, to be a part of Mine!!
Friends??
Glad To Be Alive!!

Your son started out weighing 140 and is now only 145 in 1.5 years of training, but he has a 265lb bench? If he is trying to gain weight, he needs to eat more and workout less. It's good that he has gained a lot of strength, but I don't see that continuing much more at this rate (3-4 hours in the gym doing so much volume).

You said you don't have time to research and read? All you have time for now is to, "work, Workout, Love My Family go to bed and repeat"? Well, if you cut your gym time down from 3-4 hours to 1-1.5 hours, you would have more time to research and read, or love your family. Both of which are very important.

look i train people much younger then me and I need to push them much harder then I do myself or the people who i train who are 40, 50 and yes 60 years old. If I did the same workout my teens/20 year old fighters/competitors did it would not be as beneficial for me as the workout I do. Same goes for the 50/60 year old competitors.. know way does it make sense for them to do what I put the 20 year old guys through.. oh yeah it would be cool and tough but it would not get the RESULTS.... its all about the results... well it should be.

you need to maximize your training for your goals.. not just do a shit ton of work because it is hard.

diet to me is simple. you need more cals and more protein. and keep a log. without a log you do not know what you are eating. you kinda know or you have an idea. but keeping a detailed log you KNOW.

Hello CEO,
Sorry been busy,
Sons weight was 128Lbs with 140 bench and now He weighs 148 with 265 bench.
Good gains for 14 1/2-16. His metabolism is crazy fast and He is a HSW which is a
sport where extreme dieting is required, it has shrunk His stomach!! I try getting Him to eat more and He does stuff Himself with good stuff but, He can't keep an ounce of fat on Him
His body is in overdrive sure would like for Mine to work that fast still.
I read the training split You sent but, going all natural like I have been I believe that different rules apply ,also those workouts don't meet My Own Personal criteria for covering every Muscle Group. When I get a moment I will sit and Post My typical week workout's it is going toi take a while, and THEN You can see what I'm referring to and I will probably REALLY catch some Flak from all You Guys I'm sure of it.
You definetly must work harder going natural though!!
I've been working harder and Now it's time for Me to get smarter!!
Thanks also Judo Tom!!
I appreciatte and respect all of My Fellow Brothers in Iron's Input Greatly!!
Glad To Be Alive!!

I have a feeling you follow a typical high volume, lot of isolation work type routine and I am here to tell you that, as someone who has been there, done that, it is holding you back.

Its especially important for natural athletes to work smarter NOT harder. One of the biggest benefits of AAS is the enhanced recovery so if your natural its even more important for you to not follow a proBB split with lots of isolation work, its waaaaay too much volume for a natural lifter.

You need to get in, work heavy and hard and get out so you can recover.

Unless your looking to compete in a masters physique contest or have a seriously lagging bodypart there is absolutely no reason to do isolation work (with a couple small exceptions such as direct rotator cuff work etc).

You want mass? Stick to heavy compound movements!

Understand about your boy. I was the same way. I wish I knew then what I know now, or had someone telling me then what I am telling you now.

Zyg and I are both telling you that you and your son would both be better served by doing a lower volume training like I linked you to. You would both recover better, grow better and have more time outside the gym.

You talk about going all natural? The type of training you are doing is best served for those who are not only taking loads of AAS, but are also genetically very gifted (in other words, not you or your son). No offense bro, but you are one hard headed SOB. You don't need all that isolation work. Doing compound lifts recruits all the muscles you are isolating in 1/4 or less of the exercises.

You got it wrong bro. You shouldn't be working harder going natural. Harder in the sense that you are doing 4 times the volume (amount of training) that you need, which seems to be what you mean by "working harder". Being natural (and especially older) you don't have the ability to recover properly from all of that training before you hit that muscle group again. You are right though...now it's time for you to get smarter. Get smarter by listening to those who are offering you smarter advice than what you are doing.

At this point I don't know how else I can get across to you other than to simply tell you that you are flat out wrong and you aren't serving you or your son well by sticking to this prideful notion that you are right. You are holding on to this idea too long like you held on to a failing business for 3 years. Learn from that and don't take 3 years to make a change for the better again.
