Working and dieting

I work from my home, and although many people would tell you that is easier for their diet and trainng, but i seem to find it more difficult. Im always thinking of food and always find something else to do instead of driving to the gym. When i worked away from home, it was easier to get into a routine and plan far better.

Any suggestions from ppl in similar situations?

Well, I got laid off in June....so I've been home since then..... at first I found it to be like you do -- focused on food & hard to go to the gym....

I started treating being home tho as if I was working -- preparing my meals & making sure what I had on hand was healthy, etc..... As for going to the gym, you just have to make yourself do it....

You are absolutely right Jen cat - I think that preparing meals in the AM will make life much easier :) Maybe I just need to get into a daily routine with my workouts though - wake up go to gym, come home, shower, prepare meals - day in day out until its drilled into my thick skull :)

Yup, exactly -- make yourself a routine just as if you had to go out to work each day..... then stick to it....

Same way they tell you to run your business from home- keep your work space in a seperate area from, say where the kids play, the tv, etc., set specific work hours & stick to them - otherwise you end up working all hours every day, and people assume you are available 24/7 and will contact you as such. Set your lunch / meal times at certain times and dont' go wandering into the kitchen because its there.

I KNOW its hard-- I did it also for 10 months. Very hard. I prefer the formal work environment.

Thanks sassy, you make an excellent point! It i kinda my own business that I run - but i think ill just stay in my study all day surrounded by work from 9-5 :)

i am in the same situation. i work from home...and eat like its going out of fashion. Its completely unnecessary... i think the best thing to do is like sassy says - make food times, and stick to them. Give yourself breaks, but u dont need to eat every time you have one.
tell me how u go...we can try keep each other out the kitchen!

sounds like your subconciously stressed about eating/gym....i used to be like that. I would actually count cals - go to fitday.com and see if your taking in enough food. Try take a week off exercise and meditate or do yoga/swimming...just something to change things around.
