Who else here doesn't consistently take their protein shakes???

SOunds to me........

like many of you bros start you morning off with a shake???? Man...aren't you craving food? What does your diet look like?

My first meal (after cardio) is 3/4 cup steel cut with about 6-8 eggs (2 yolks).....splenda, cinnamon.....mushrooms and cheese in the eggs...........but, I guess it's because I need to save my shakes for work when it would be hard to scramble of some eggs...........

I've been on protein shakes morning and before bed for the past 4 years. pretty much the same taste too. i dont drink them for flavor. i do it for function.

actually i would be LOST

woops.. sorry,

ok conitinued. i would be LOST without protein shakes. whenever i can't get time to eat i fill up with them. always start my day with one and ALWAYS go to bed with one.

if i take too much in one shake then i get gas out the ass so i just cut back the amount of scoops.

Wouldn't live without them

i prefer getting in my protein from food- beef, eggs and milk especially. shakes do have their advantages- convenience and the fact that they allow u to get in more protein. but then i don't like to go above 250gms of protein/day. so there are days when i won't have shakes at all- depends only on the time factor.

i sometimes wonder whether shakes are a must as the protein manufacturers would have u believe. i know the theory about post workout- but i usually have a pretty big meal 1hr before i go to the gym. usually get in about 40g there. and same thing post workout. so i think it eliminates the "necessity" of a shake. besides straight after a workout and i am starving and have to keep myself from going overboard with potato chips and other junk.

Just curious because no matter what I just can't stay consistent with it. I hate the way it runs right through me and so I don't feel it's a good sacrafice if I have to go to the bathroom too much. I know I have to start and maybe take it little by little and maybe with food but I'm just not consistent with it. I like to get my nutrition from regular foods but I know it's not practical to get all the nutrition one needs for optimal gains so I guess I'm not doing what's optimal.... :mix:

I'll try to take it AT LEAST for post workout. That should make a good difference just from that. :)
Well I must confess that I don't take it every single day.

I've went from 3 shakes a day to 1 shake a day and I haven't noticed much of a difference. I do notice though that with less shakes I eat more real food, which I think is better then all that liquid protein. I think 3 was overkill especially at the amount I've been eating at lately.

I do three daily and think it's essential in order to get all of my required macros in.............impossible for me to put down 400g of solid protein...........

3 shakes per day,I couldn't function without them. I'm constsntly leaving work to go home every hour to grab something to eat!
