This may sound a little vauge but what the hell is the secret to big squats and deadlifts??!! I have witnessed guys that I can pick up and throw out the window, (168 class), pull 550 and squat even more! What the hell are they on any way??!!

I am in the 220 class at 6' 0" long legs and arms for a powerlifter. I am still training for my april meet so I am shooting for a 470 x3 x2sets (squat) this wednesday, shooting for a 455x3x2sets on deads. I am following a program Joe Ladnier put in the last issue of monstermuscle and it is working pretty good so far, last meet was a 405 and 400 respectivly. I really can't afford to buy the WSB tapes but may have to break down and save up for it. But then I lift in a gym where I am the ONLY guy who actually makes noise when lifting and again, the only guy who actually does deads.

Any suggestions of programs out there? Anything will help!

Oh by the way....you dont NEED the WSB tapes, they are good and worth the money....but all the info is on the net.

Its good to see the guys in action and put motion and pictures to the articles you read. (seeing the speed they work out at...and their ability to be quick all workout...no matter how big is amazing)

But you can get by.

Thanks endpoint, I have been cruising and reading for almost a year now. I thought perhaps there was a catch with the angle of foot placement or stance or even bar position that may give a mechanical advantage.

Later..G
