What to replace my post workout shake with?

I need to find some kind of replacement for a post workout protein shake. Due to some medical issues my doc has asked me to stop using protein shakes and all supps temporarily to see if it helps. Not only am I starving because a couple of my meals durring the day were shakes but, I also fear not having nutrients to replish with post workout. I have simply drank OJ on a couple of the days. I'm hoping there's some sort of powdered drink (non protein of course) I can use. Otherwise, I think I'm just going to start hitting Wendy's for a couple jr. bacon cb's postworkout. I am not worried about fat or carb content. I have no problem leaning out, it's gaining muscle I have a problem with. I have worked hard for the mass I now have I do not want to lose it if at all possible.

Thanx,

what do you think the pros used before whey shakes!?!?! eat some chicken breasts and simple sugars, gatorade, powerade, smarties candies, etc.

how abot cottage cheese pw with some oatmeal or some simple sugars egg whites are a good source of protien milk would be good too

I eat a can of tuna and wash it down with a few scoops of gatorade powder.

Too poor for protein powder right now.

What's wrong with protein shakes ?

It's amazing how many of the pros have not adapted the protein/gluc. shake recipe immidiately PW......well, I've only talked to 3 and read about Coleman, but they all seem to think it's overrated as long as you get a meal in ASAP............
