What is the most painful injury you have gotten at you gym?

curling

I have smashed my fingers a few times when putting back heavy dumbbells. I evened strained my rotator cuff on doing bar bench(never again only dumbbells) . The worse happened last night when I banged my kneecap on the squat rack walking to the water fountain after doing some straight bar curls. Sheesh that hurt. I tried my best to not cuss and keep walking but I finally had to sit down and cuss. I wonder why we cuss when we get hurt? Think we learned it from our old man or what?

Anyway what is your worse injury in the gym oir most painful one?

Please, tell me that you weren't curling in the power rack. Please, please tell me that you were curling somewhere more appropriate and you hit your knee on the power rack on the way to the water fountain. Get it, got it, don't do it!

Anyway, gym injuries include: smashed fingers, hands & toes - mutiple strains - 2-3 serious lower back strains - bicepitis tendonitis -pinched nerve in upper back - inflammed sciatic nerve

Nope it was the power rack. By far the best place to do straight bar curls. That way you don't have to pick the bar off the ground because it is in the perfect position to curl. But before you get you pants in ruffle my gym has two power racks.

dropped a 35 lb db on my toe once, also hurt my back bad once doing squats, worst that happened (not to me) was a kid was doing lat pull downs and the cable ripped and it put a huge gash in his head when it came down....kid had to go to the hospital

Curling

Ignorance is bliss I hear. Heaven forbid you have to bend over to pick the weight from the floor. Lazy, lazy lazy....

I was doing good mornings with bad form, and I strained my lower back. I had to go to the ER the next day because I hurt so bad. They pumped me with muscle relaxers and pain pills. I was in physical therapy for 2 months. :xeye:

To this day, I still get pains if I don't exercise my lower back enough. A newbie mistake, but at least I learned!!!

As a newbie I would do heavy squats with not-so-perfect form.

My lower back pays for it to this day.

I have to be extremely careful doing T-Bars, squats, good mornings, or stiff-leg deadlifts.

Not lazy just smart. If you were a real bodybuilder you wouldn't need no pussy rack for squats. You would clean and jerk that weight then let it down on shoulders and then due your squats. And when your thru you would jerk it back up then put it down making a large noise and then scream "YEA BABTY THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT"

Pussy Rack???

That's the first time I've ever heard a power rack referred to as a pussy rack. Hummm, seems to me like most of the guys using the power rack are working heavy compound movements and they don't seem to be the pussies in the gym (i.e. powerlifters). The pussies are the ignorant fools that think training involves daily sets of bicep curls - in a power rack. Do the members at your gym a favor. Educate yourself about what true training really is and once you get a better understanding, a little perspective, I'm sure you'll see it my way. Maybe a talk with your parents will help when you get home from school today.
