What is the most overrated exercise here?

I just stick with the basic excercises, bench, squat, deadlift etc. So everytime I see some new kids do isolation excercises for instance one arm cable extensions I feel like going to them and tell them to stop with that shit.

yeah it IS a good exercise, but that doesnt mean it cant be overrated ya know.........

that is generally true but i don;t see enough people benching where i am. Most do cable crossovers and/or peck deck flyes.

It's just as well i don;t do them isn't it, or i'd be waiting for a long time to use them...

re endpoint:

Weather is beautiful out here at the moment, I just haven't been on EF much recently.

I actually think DB pullovers are a very good exercise...

As for squat - it is an excellent exercise. But that doesn't mean that it is not overrated the way some people go on and on about it how fantastic it is.

And I love the BB bench, how much y'all bench??!? :D

Squats probably are the best single exercise (if for some reason you could only do one) but I'm sick of people saying you CANNOT gain muscle without them.... you'll be scrawny forever. Whatever.

For me it's probably dumbbell pullovers as well.... I try them every once in a while and they don't seem to do much.

I disagree about abs training, though. Look at old pictures of guys in POW camps.... they had almost no bodyfat, but only a few of them have visible abs. I put that down to the muscles not being developed enough (or having atrophied from starvation) even with the very low bodyfat. Of course you need diet to SEE abs, but ab exercises are good for making them prominent.

Sure you need to train abs, but the reason why lots of bros on the board respond with "diet" is because that is usually the problem (fat), not the training.

Say what you want about squats, but show me someone who has built huge legs without them and I'll show you a liar
