In Tom Venuto's E-book he says that meals shouldn't be consumed 2-3 hours before bed, if you want to lose body fat. I've been taking a protein shake immediately before bed for awhile now. Being under the impression that, the protein will help my muscles repair/grow/recover.
Tom's reasoning is, your metabolism greatly slows down when you sleep, thus you are more likely to store food as body fat.
So I'm in a predicament here. Kill the food before bed. Or stick with the protein shake.
*side note, I'm taking just a whey protein shake, but am thinking about switching it over to a mixed shake blend, so I get more of a time released protein action during rest
