Urgent help/expertise needed!

Hello. I'm having a lot of problems getting my regimen straightened out. I've been to two endos (both female) already and neither of them were competent or even close to it.

One of them looked me in the eyes and tried to tell me that a total testosterone level of 131 was not low. LOL. What a moron! I am now attempting to have my GP take over my treatment. He has always been receptive to my suggestions in the past and my appointment is in a few days.

My symptoms are bad lethargy, moodiness/depression, just lost my zest for life. Don't feel like leaving my house & that's NOT me. Used to be very active. Also, eating 6 meals/day with at least 1,000cals. over maintenance & solid supplementation coupled w/dedicated weight training put very little weight on me.

My background:
44yr old male.
5"11
186
14% body fat approx. but lean looking.
•Been into lifting/dieting for nearly 20 years.
•Never juiced but did a few brief cycles of transdermal 19Nor Androstenediol before it was outlawed.
Current Medical Conditions:
•Recently diagnosed with Secondary Hypogonadism. A recent MRI showed nothing wrong with my pituitary/brain.
•Severe IBS D & Acid Reflux - which has rendered me unable to work. (Currently searching for work from home opportunities).
•Pre-Diabetic. A1C is 6.3. but careful monitoring/dieting proves glucose to be stable for now.

•Blood work•
Prior to beginning TRT:

Urea Nitrogen: 25 (7-25)
Creatinine: 1.19 (0.6-1.35)
BUN/Creatinine Ratio: 21.2 (6-22)

•Blood work after 10wks of Cyp inj. @ 200mg ev. 2wks - taken right before my next injection•

Total Test: 287 (250-1100)
Free Test: 62.9 (46-224)
Bioavailable Test: 132.1 (110-575)

Platelet Count: 243 (140-400)
PSA, TOTAL: 0.7 (0-4)

Cholesterol/HDL Ratio: 3.4 (<OR=5.0)
LDL Cholesterol, Calculated: 75 (<130)
Triglycerides: 140 (<150)

**Labs done a separate time 1wk after my injection showed:
Total Test: 524 (250-1100)
Bioavailable Test: 243 (110-575)
Free Test: 115.8 (46-224)
SHBG: 17 (10-50)
Albumin: 4.6 (3.6-5.1)
TSH M: 1.01 (0.4-4.5)
These seem LOW only a week after a 200mg. inj.
***Even though I've requested additional tests: Estradiol, Prolactin, etc. my lazy Endos refused.

I'm attempting to have my GP keep me at 200mg. but increase The frequency to once every week. Could you guys please offer your opinions on all of this? I would greatly appreciate it as I desperately want/need my life back!!! Thank you!!!

PS. I'm cross-posting this on several different forums to get the best advice.

Hey guy, welcome to the forum! Jesus? What's going on here? You posted the above a week ago and no response from these "Learned gentlemen"?
For shame on you guys for not responding to this brother for help! Especially you "learned" mods and PT'ers here at EF! OH, and the other bros too! LOL
Damn, I wish were in my 40's. I didn't get on TRT until I turned 53 and my Test was 143ng/dl. at the time and I felt worse then shit. A urologist, not a endocrinologist, placed me on 200-300mg. of TEST E every 2 weeks which didn't help my below shit status at all. So I began supplementing the TRT with my own mix.

Once a week will be much better for you IMO. I'm not an expert, but comparing your readings to my readings, I see a few factors that maybe causing your medical conditions.
I had IBS and acid reflux. Both alleviated by eliminating my beer drinking on the weekends. Diabetes run throughout my family and relatives. My granddad was the first to die from the pestilence and its has killed almost everyone within the clan. I dread that disease more than I do cancer. I'm very careful about what I eat and how much I eat on a daily basis.

My doctors have also refused those tests that you written about. I asked my female PCP that the tests are necessary for my well being and peace of mind, but she insisted that the tests are for females who are going through pregnancy and not for males. Eventually after going to the clinic without an appointment week after week, she give into the tests.
I'm glad I didn't have to confess to steroid usage. Now I get the tests done every 3-6 months or when I feel that a test is necessary. Thanks to the VAMC.

I wish you good luck in getting your GP to agree to the weekly injections and ask for home injections after two months like I did when I was on TRT.
Also I hope that the other fellows will chime in from the other forums with some much needed help. Peace

PS. I'm cross-posting this on several different forums to get the best advice.

I had the same problem with the TRT doc that I had when I 1st relocated. The doc "guessed" a lower dose of test than what I had been on was "good enough" after complaining about Low T symptoms falling on deaf ears I switched docs.

New doc is tremendous.

It may take a bit of searching but there are good TRT docs out there who will know how/what to prescribe.

You're best bet may be to go with your primary. They know you better and sad to say, most docs don't understand the hormone manipulation. I'm battling right now with what I believe to be too low of a dose. Doc initially prescribed 100mg every other week. Pharmacist misunderstood and prescribed 200mg every other week. Obviously understanding the half life of T-cyp I opted for 100mg a week based off of what the pharmacist filled. One hell of a shock came when they finally straightened it out and now I'm I'm 100mg every other week. I feel like crap by the 2nd week. Next appt is forthcoming with the doc. Hopefully I can talk doc into at least 100g per week (what I was on) and get back to normal. Bloods should prove she was conservative with her dose. I feel your pain.
