Training a weak part multiple times per week

What is your personal exp. with this?

I myself have had good results focusing on one weak area for about 3 weeks.

Example (weak tri's- especially left tri)

Split would be

Mon
Chest & tri's

Tues
Deads/Bi's/ left tri

Thurs
Squats/calves/tri

Fri
Shoulders/Back/Left tri

Three weeks of this and my left tricep had almost caught up to my right. Proving the theory that mixing up volumes may be beneficial.

You're assuming more is better, which is not true in weightlifting. You'd be better off increasing your intensity as opposed to your volume. Do one day, two at most. High weights, low reps. If your eyes are popping out of your head on your last rep, then you'll know you're doing them correctly.

I do for rear delt. i train them heavy on mon with bent over delt raises. then coe back on tues and hit it with 60% of mon weight for a few sets to help recover faster. Then i might hit them with another diferent movement later on tin the weak

Sometimes it is. For a few weeks the tri is in complete shock and then everything goes back to normal. Sounds like the optimal gains plan to me.

I think a method like that is better for somebody just starting out. When I first started to train I trained chest/bi's mon wed fri grew like a weed. Gains slowed down after 6 months. Now once a week

True. It's likely that any significant change you make to your routine will provide some gains. However, it's not necessarily because the routine is any better but the change itself that produces the results.

But in the long term, I think it's a waste of time.

please explain your logic behind this. training a body part 2 days in a row speeds recovery ?

The only one assuming

is you gymtime.

If you read the whole post, it stated that mixing up your volumes can and is beneficial. Going from a moderate volume Higher intenstiy, to a higher frequency for a few weeks has been very beneficial in adding size to weak areas.

I was not asking for advice, rather your experiences in doing the same thing.

Thanks though.

I read your entire post. I would not have responded if I didn't have experience with this. Asking for experiences or advice is pretty much the same thing. We don't make those kind of distinctions here. Most of us just assume people are asking for advice, opinions, feedback in general.

In the future, I'll try to remember that you can only handle positive feedback.

I can handle all kinds of feedback - negative, positive or indifferent.

Your Quote was
"You're assuming more is better, which is not true in weightlifting"

I assume that many know or seem to know that bodybuilding is individualistic. I was offering an insight and asking if any others had similar responses to increased frequency.

I would have rather you said I'm an idiot, than offer an answer to a question that wasn't asked.

Sorry about being so sensitive, I just quit smoking (3 weeks now) after 10 years of abuse (LOL)

Regardless, perhaps I should take all responses as a blessing.
