you could still use the sam blade behind a shield wall. And if things broke down you could start swinging it normally. It's still the best anti zombie weapon. Light and with a devestated cutting blade against normal flesh. Again if we're talking about heavily armored foes the equation changes, but against squishy zombies the light long and incredibly sharp blade that is the samurai sword is unmatched. Now if we start talking like super crazy shit like a chain saw attached to an extended arm, then we can have some more discussion.
