The most misused piece of equipment in your gym..

Even some bodybuilders do T-Bar rows wrong...

So here Is my method..

Lift the weight off the floor with the legs mainly.. stand up like a soldier - i.e. straight, chest out... BUM back and out slightly..

Now bend - like a good morning, but keep the back straight (standing straight like a soldier helps this move) - Your back is now dead straight and you are in a great position for T-Bar rows...

Well, a lot of people in my gym have trouble using the free weights with correct form. It's a little bit frightening sometimes, there are a couple of people who I am sure will eventually injure themselves if they keep using weights that they shouldn't be touching with awkward form.

hardgainer (it's all about form)

the four fifteen yr olds who stay on the flat bench for three hours w/ their t-shirt sleeves rolled up.

The single most misused piece of equipment in my gym is the squat racks. There is 4 or 5 of them and
typically when I show up they are all full. Problem is nobody is doing squats! Usually there's a bunch of faggots doing bicep curls.

that pisses me off to no end... the idiots who take the olympic bar, put a plate or two on it and try to curl it when the only thing they're doing is guarenteeing that they will have lower back pain for the rest of their lives...

(with proper form, these guys probably couldn't even curl the e-z curl bar (okay, maybe the bar and a couple 10lbs plates, but i can do that...)

There is this older man (@60) in our gym who, on every machine he uses, puts it on the heaviest weight possible and then goes as fast as he can,
contorting his body every which way trying to lift the weight. It's a SIGHT! Thank god he doesn't use the free weights!

The gym management has tried to talk to him, but he gets snippy, saying he's been doing it this way all his life. Even though his physique is slightly above average for his age, he does NOT look like someone who weight trains.

Now they're going to have him sign a release saying if he has any injury, it's his own fault.

Yes I have to agree with all of these posts. They are oh so true. My gym is located next to a hospital which comes in useful because I shit you not in the short six months I have been a member the paramedics have been called out about 10 times because of injurys. Idiots benching to much is the main cause. Like this one guy, I was waiting to use the sqaut rack one day when this guy that looked like he couldn't weigh more than 150 soaking wet loaded some ridiculous 4 45 pound plates on each end of the bar. He got up to about 3 reps when apparently fatigue set in and on his way on the 4th rep he fell forward and the bar came crashing down on him and landed on the back of his neck. Poor bastard couldn't move. Had to be wheeled out on a stretcher. But I was one of these gung ho motherfuckers when I first started lifting. Thinking I could handle more weight than I should have. Ended up injuring my shoulder which put me out for 2 years. Next time I was in a gym after that I said fuck ego lifting. Rather look like a pansi lifting a light weight using strict form than a moron slinging more than he can handle and risking injury.

Bicep curls

I swear to god theres this fuckin idiot at the gym who runs halfway across the room to gather enough momentum to get a 90lb dumbell up for a curl. Everybody gets out his way for fear of losing a limb or getting a concussion.

Anyways makes for a good laugh

I would definitely say either flat bench press or just some type of curl. I have never in my life seen anyone arch their back of flat presses like the people in my gym. Incline presses as well they arch until it looks like their back is gonna give out. Crazy!

Curls people use as much of their lower back as they do their biceps its just ridiculous. :D Another one is seated calf raises. Everyone in my gym does the exercise like their in a hurry and just bounce the weight up and down and up down not even working the calves.

I hate people with crappy form and act all bad like they know what they are doing. I also hate people with the disease called I.L.S. (Imaginary Lat syndrome). They walk around like their lats are too big to put their arms down but there isn't anything there!!!

ever seen a running bench press?
i have. there was a knucklehead running in place while holding a 20 lb preloaded str. bar doing a bench press motion.thats the funniest shit i have ever seen.

lat pulldown machine is the most creative area IMO. so many ways to do "exercises". im assuming people think that if they can actually find a way to move thier body...that its working "something". i just shake my head at the poor guys getting their neck and abs strong by doing behind the neck pulldowns. it looks like they are prepping for a behind the steering wheel blowjob contest! no lat involvement, just neck and abs.
