The Log of Fatty McButterPants

Funny how people have different tastes - ya know? :)

Did cardio again today - had an AWESOME workout. I ran on the treadmill, and at first, told myself I would WU for 5min and then run/walk for 30min, then CD for 5min.

Well, as I was WU - I felt really good. So I did an 8min WU and then said I would run for 10min. 10min came and I felt great, so I said I will run for 13min, felt great, ended up running for 20min, walked for 2 then ran for 15 more. Did 5 min CD then. Total 50min. I felt AWESOME after that. Threw a couple random intervals in there, just to see how it felt - loved it. I have missed running sprints. I love them.

Have been re-thinking my goals, my workout plan, etc. I used to be a big runner - ran a lot of 5Ks and a few 10Ks back in the day. I really loved running and love the race atmosphere.

I am toying with the idea of running a 1/2 marathon in March. That would give me about 13 weeks to prepare - pushing it, but possible given my previous experience running. Especially if I set the goal "just to finish". I am going to take the next couple days to ponder it, and decide if it is something I want to commit to.

I just feel like I need a GOAL - something more than just "losing fat" or the like. I need to focus on something non-weight/fat oriented - I tend to get caught up in the numbers and stress about them. I think that if I have a non-weight-oriented goal, I will have a lot more success - especially EMOTIONAL/MENTAL success.

We'll see.

Basically when what used to be your goal has become your lifestyle, you do end up needing to up the stakes a little to strive for something new. I've experienced that in everything that I've embraced and been passionate about from scuba diving to education to 'fitness'. That's what keeps you growing and expanding and forever achieving satisfaction with your accomplishments and finding out what you can do.

That is very true.

Plus, knowing my obsessive personality - especially when it comes to my weight and body - if I do not have something to work towards, I become hypervigilent about the numbers and how they define me. Not healthy.

I think having a *performance* goal or event goal, rather than a number goal or how I look (so subjective) is healthier for me.

SO get this ... I have been off work since Thanksgiving. That is FIVE WEEKS. I go back to work tomorrow. And LAST NIGHT I come down with a cold. WTF? Murphy's Law.

I have been slamming Airborne every 3 hours, taking Vit C like it is going out of style, and trying to stay hydrated. Sucks. At least I do fel better tonight than I did 24 hours ago.

I am cursed, I swear.

Annnnyyyywayyyyyyy

Re-starting food log tomorrow. Lunch is packed, bag is ready, I am geared up and ready. ;)

*Since I am still feeling under the weather - I am skipping the gym tonight. Plan on going tomorrow evening instead of early AM. I need to KICK this BUG!
*Not very hungry today! Prob the cold medicine and the busy-ness of my day. I was running aorund like crazy - I forgot how much I move during the day!

6:45am

made with 1/4c skim milk, 1/2c water

12:30pm

1/2c Kashi Go Lean Honey Almond Flax
1tbsp Ground Flaxseeds

* Missed my morning snack, ate a bunch for lunch though, lol. Going to take some getting used to my work schedule again.
*OMG - just fitday'd this ... I have eaten about 600 calories today. YIKES. Might eat a little "bad" tonight, since cals are so low. :)

7:15pm
Chicken and Cheese Chimchanga - frozen. Total "drunk college food" - but it was yummy. :) Brought my cals up to 920 for the day, but macros are a little off. Eh, we'll see what the rest of the night will bring. :)

8:30pm
1 granny smith apple
1tbsp dark chocolate PB

Calories Eaten Today
grams cals %total
Total: 1081

*Cals WAY too low, protein WAY too low. Was going to have a shake before bed, but just felt like crap. Skipped it. My shake would have brought both cals and protein up to a respectable level. :(
