hey guys im always on the run so i have trouble eating alot of solid foods so i find myself drinking shakes and bars and weightgainers. I usually get in 2-3 solid meals a day...then i have 2 nlarge shakes a day w/2-3 other shakes and some bars...my protein always ranges between 350-400gms of protein and my cals are usually high between 4000-5000. Anyways my ? is when i have protein shake with milk its usaually around 600 cals and 60 grams of protein are these cals and protein the same as eating whole food...or do u get much more out of whole foods?

I feel as though these are a good suitable meal repalcement though when training for a show whole foods is the only way to go due to hidden ingredients such as sugars, oils, and in some cases stabalizers. i personally think there is no subsitute for real food though i will still drink down 3 of these a day as its quick and easy

The proteins in meal replacements are derived from food sources... Some of the added sugars and vitamins are synthetic.. But that doesn't make them any different from what you would get from food..

The only real difference is the preservatives added...
