Strongest Man/Woman of the West

A quick correction - I had asked Mr. X if women should use bwx20 (seemed like a lot of kcals), and he replied that formula didn't work well for his GF. She dropped it to bwx14-15 and had good success with that formula. This would drop my protein to ~235 grams on training days; still more than I intake right now, but not as drastic a jump.

Yeah, I would hate to see what would happen to me if I upped my protein intake to such proportions not only overnight but within a week.

300grams? Wowzers.

That sounds like a workable amount to me. I betcha you'll be seein' some amazing results once you increase your protein intake. In terms of both LBM AND strength. No doubt about that.

Excellent work slinky! I'm super impressed! And to whoever mentioned it, I think the idea or competing in PL, strongwoman, BB and OL is brilliant. I have little doubt you are completely capable of that, slinky. I'm sort of on my way to trying it all too. It makes the whole of my lifting future look bright and fun :) My OL coach happens to compete in PL and used to organise the strongperson contests here, so I'm well on my way ...

Just as a matter of interest, JJ, I remember MS mentioning that just about all her gains came thick and fast post-contest. Dorian Yates had the same experience, so you might want to think twice about staying low cal immediately post contest if you're looking to gain LBM. I actually also found that - I gained a lot of LBM immediately post contest - I also gained a fair amount of fat ... but, er well - I guess that's par for the course, and I wasn't exactly super careful with the cals - I was pretty sick of watching my intake by that point, but second time round I did much better - less fat, lots of muscle.

You know, Steel, I was just thinking my plan to test out this new diet approach is kind of stupid. Plus, I'm ready to go and start building some muscle.

I kind of just wanted to see how I'd feel on this type of diet, and I have to admit, I'm feeling pretty good. I get to eat more quantity, I'm eating more veggies so my digestion is a little happier, and I get a little more variety. It looks like a good plan for next time.
