Strawberries

im starting a diet for a new job and one of the ghuys i work with was giving me some tips and recommended to eat strawberries whenever i craved carbs...i asked why and he said theyre high in fiber and something about the remaining carbs dont get digested by your body so theyre basically calorie free....i know theres not a ton of carbs in them anyway but i never heard this before, is it true anyone know?

No, they are not calorie free. :)

They do however have a good thermogenic to carb ratio, and are Vit. C powerhouses for their size.

Of course, overeat anything, and well, you know. I had a friend of mine start eating strawberries in unlimited amounts in his diet(he weighs over 300 lbs.), and he was amazed he lost about 20 lbs. What he didn't realize was why this worked....he was substituting less calorie dense food for some more calorically dense food because he was getting full from the strawberries, so he ended up with less calories.

But, just because something is "good for you" does not mean you can fit it into your diet in unlimited amounts.

Per 100 gr. you have a total of 8 gr. or so of carbs and 2 gr. of fiber.

Strawberries are great for cutting. And I know IFBB pro David Henry eats them throughout the day during his contest prep.

I think the "guys at work" mean well, but are not fully informed.

I use veggies for the majority of my carb intake.

I did decide to add a few "fast carbs" to slow down the cutting process.
My choice after reseach was 2-4 strawberries, 12-15 blue berries and
an apple after dinner.

Seemed the smartest selection from a health standpoint.
