Steak, and lots of it...?

Uhm, sweet potatoes are the ones with the high GI, aren't they?

Plus, the biggest factor will be calories in > calories out in terms of fat gain, not the GI of the foods (unless it's sugars and candies).

Why is it everyone is missing the issue? I DON'T MIND THE MONOTONY! It can be tiresome as hell to you, fine. I love steak. If I get sick of it, I can use eggs for one meal, and come chicken in another to replace all the steak.

Will 24-36 oz. (1.5-2.25 lbs) of steak taken in DAILY be harmful in anyway? What about those dangerous types of irons or whatever in steak? I hear stuff about it maybe increasing risk for diabetes, but I have no family members who have this issue.

I also hear it can cause certain cancers, but I'm pretty sure that's bunk.

So...? Anyone?

If you can handle eating that much I say go for it. Sounds like a great bulking diet and I bet you'll do well with it. Don't know anything of the risks involved......How long are you doing it for? Personally I wouldn't worry about it, but you sound worried :)

Steak is usually cheaper than chicken

I know, that's why I'm using it as my prime source...

Unless you meant more expensive, which...it's not. $1 for a chicken breast, 190 cals and 42g protein. $0.19 for 1 oz. steak, which has roughly 70 cals, 9.8 fat, and...I forget how much protein. But, the steak ends up being more cost effective.

Plus, it tastes 10x better to me. So much easier to eat.

Would eating 2.25 lbs. (36 oz.) of Beef Top Round Steak daily be bad?

I know I've heard from BBF in the past that the increased risk of prostate cancer is simply due to the higher test levels given from steak. I was planning to follow Mr. X's Bulking Up Basics guide, which recommends a meat and potatoes diet. I checked out the ratios, and they work out perfectly. Plus, I love my bloody red meat and potatoes in gravy and worcestershire sauce!

So, would this be okay? Six meals per day, consisting of each 6 oz. steak and 210 grams potato?

I figure the only issue will be fiber and digestion, so I plan to throw in veggies. If that's an issue, how many veggies would I need? Which vegetables, and how many of them? Some at every meal with the steak and potatoes? 1 cup each meal? Any idea in weight measurements?

Top Round is like 96% lean. It's also cheap. Problem is it's tough and tasteless. Marinating is necessary for me to eat. Therefore it will take time.

I would like to shop where Antharax shops because tenderloin is $10 a lb or more anywhere I've looked

i get chick fromthe butcher like 2/lb

If you buy skinless, boneless chicken breast (and not the very cheap one with a lot of white fat) it's getting pricey
