Some skinny kid at my gym told me: "Bro, you over-train"

Still if Arnold was 30 years younger

Bro, Pros do not train more then anyone else. Most pros train 1 hour a day 4-5 times a week and just eat and sleep the rest of the time. I think you are thinking of Arnold's time when they spent all day in the gym. Obviously, if you look at Arnold and look at todays pros, training all day is not of any benefit.

and if he had access to the drugs the Coleman's have today, he would beat them all.

Nowadays, it is less training and more shooting, a lot more then in the old days.

Half of you sound like a bunch of old ladies at church. My 18 inch pythons show that overtraining is a bunch of bee's wax. The proof is in the pudding, brother. That sweet pea at my gym does arms once a week, and like i said, they look like 2 un-cooked string beans dangling in the wind. When you earn a reputation like the "Mrytle Beach Hammer", then come and talk to me. Next year, if my pythons grow to 21 inches, don't surprised to hear "The hammer" is running wild on Venice Beach.

Some skinny prick at my gym today told me that I over-train. He made this comment because he saw me do arms 3 times in a one week. First of all, my arms are 18 inches, which is big for 170lbs. I am in very good shape otherwise also. I used to believe that also, but I see myself growing more that I do body parts 2-3 times a week. Besides, my theory is that Pro's are in the gym 5+ hours a day, it is their career. They look great and train way morew than i do. Am I right or wrong?? Whatever it may be, my gains are showing by the week. Anyways, the 135 pounder pissed me off and I told him his arms looked like string beans and that he might want to get on my program. Fucker!

5 hours? Nice theory.I'd love to see someone train that long. Even in a 2x/day split. If you can train arms three times per week then you aren't training hard enough.

Sorry bro but if you have 18 inch guns and you weigh only 170lbs then your legs must look like toothpicks. Also arms are a small muscle and should only be trained once a week.

3 times a week for arms is the best in theory
¸biceps are small muscles and will recover easilly, some pros even recommend
doing arms 3 times a week ( of course while on cycle )
I did it myself and they GREW!!!!!!!!!!

takes my words for it, I wont do it for other body parts,

The HAMMER

Hahahhaaaa..."The HAMMER..." lol shit. On venice beach? The Mecca Of Bodybuilding and anyone is gonna give a shit enough to call some 170 lb kid "The HAMMER?"

I think they call you the HAMMER 'cause you've got a fat-ass head and a skinny body.

come on now, let's be nice and just let this thread drift away. While I do think it is pretty idiotic to spend all your time training an already overly developed muscle group, there can be alot gained from strongly biasing your program to favor weak muscle groups...this is not always through increasing frequency though.

I have lifted with competitive bbers who almost completely neglect to train their muscle groups that grow easy. For example I've known one bber for several years who has always loved to squat and shoulder press because he could move freaky weight in those movements. His placing suffered greatly from this though, as the huge quads and delts really highlighted his weak calves and arms. Last year he completely focused on the weak areas, performing only maintenance work on his strong points (when hitting quads he would do less sets and then spend most of the workout on calves...also hitting hams at about a 2/1 ratio to quads. for delts they might get a few sets after either arms or chest). While on paper his program looked incredibly unbalanced, he came into his show much much more symetrical and did very well.

Other modifications can be working the weak group the day after a rest day, and using more stimulants before the weak group workouts and less for the strong groups workouts. Again, don't fall into the trap of thinking that frequency, or even set count is the only way to bring up a weak part.
