Some observations I have made watching people at my gym->

When I have vigorous sex I can feel it afterwards but I dont gain any muscle from it. Crossovers are a waist in my opinion. As are many other exercises I see guys doing for hours on end.

hey when i do crossovers i can feel it heaps afterwards.. doesnt that count towards anything?

You will get a pump but the exercise is unable to stimulate enough muscle fibres to stimulate any kind of growth. When you look around the gym at the truely big guys, it's pretty rare to see any of them anywhere near the cables.

i personally "rage against the machine" ,using only freeweights ,people watch me doing squats with the dumbbells thinking why is he not using the big machine. It really brings guys back down to the ground when they cant squat using my dumbbells after "squating" the whole weight stack on the machine.

I couldn't believe my eyes this morning. Some dude was helping another dude learn to squat AND deadlift!! It was amazing. However, he was doing them with shitty form, with no real criticism from his buddy. But hey, he's starting them. Good for him.

To add some hilarity, this newbie dude had the dumbest looking mullet I've ever seen.

all,

about cable crossovers...

im under the impression that the primary movement for the pecs is moving your arm across your body (ie cable crossover) so if this is the case i think cable xovers are fine...

i do em but i mostly use it to warm up and get a good pump before i start benching

peace

Sean

people just don't have the will to endure pain, I mean it takes real will to endure pain and not take the easy way out of doing partial's....

But you will never really grow without intensity and proper routines, hence Squats, Deads, Military press are the most neglected lifts....

The movement itself is sound, but using cables cant put enough stress on the muscle fibres, that's why heavy dumbell flyes are much better. I work up to sets with 80-90lb dumbells for flyes, there is no way a machine could duplicate that kind of muscle stress

I've yet to see one person do deadlifts at my gym. I also rarely see anybody do squats without the smith machine. Whenever I do deadlifts, I get people staring and some even laughing. It's funny cause I'm 16 and I'm stronger than 90% of the members
