Shoulder Pain

I am not sure if this is the correct forum for this post but if it is not please direct me to the correct one. I have been having some lingering shoulder pain, both shoulders for the last couple of months. I just came off of a, EQ, Sust, Tren, and Winstrol cycle. I did spot injections in the shoulders but I do not think it is from that. It seems to be the worst when I work my biceps. This morning after my bicep workout I could barely lift my arms. I get the pump in my biceps, but the shoulder actually hurt. I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if so how was the pain relieved. I am sure taking some time off would help, but I hate doing that.

Thanks

It’s probably a rotator cuff problem, but there are so many factors involved that it’s really hard to identify over the internet—and I’m in not even a clinician!

Is it acute or is it chronic? I do know that acute injuries are usually muscle strains and sometimes tears. If it’s chronic it could be just rotator cuff weakness that’s causing your problems. Do you do any specific rotator cuff exercises? If not, you should.

I would back off on the volume of the offending exercise and start doing some rotator cuff exercises and see if that helps.

Thanks for the responses. The pain has been chronic, but after training certain days it is really bad. When I do biceps/forearms and chest it is the worst. I have a shoulder horn harness and was using it pretty consistently, but stopped. Maybe I will start that again. It is strange though because it happens on both sides. Someone said something about a tendon that runs from the biceps into the shoulders which is often injured, or strained. I am taking glucosamine which made a little difference. I like DECA but have not done any in a while.

Here is something I found on WebMD:

Bicipital tendinitis

Bicipital tendinitis is an inflammation of one of the tendons that attach the muscle on the front of the upper arm (biceps) to the shoulder joint. The inflammation usually occurs along the groove (bicipital groove) where the tendon enters the shoulder joint.

Causes may include:

Overuse, especially in athletes who use throwing motions.
Inflammatory conditions, such as arthritis or bursitis.
Infection.
Injury.
Symptoms may include:

Shoulder pain that may spread down the front of the arm.
Tenderness where the biceps meets the shoulder (bicipital groove).
Decreased shoulder movement and pain.
A bulge in the biceps (if one of the biceps tendons ruptures).
Treatment includes rest, ice, compression, and elevation (RICE), gentle exercise, stopping smoking, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs). Smoking can interfere with healing of tendinitis by decreasing blood supply and collagen metabolism. A sling may be used temporarily for comfort. Rarely, surgery is recommended if home treatment does not help.

deca will help shoulder/joint pain, but are you over training these muscles? They need a couple days to fully recover inbetween workouts. like I rotate upper and lower and I do weight training on 4 days and then just cardio on off days.

That works best for me. I used to lift 5 or 6 days, but then I got better results with less days and hard training.

That is a distinct possibility. My training split is as follows:

Monday Legs
Tuesday Shoulder / Traps
Wed Back
Thursday Biceps / Forearms
Friday Chest / Tris

I do not do cardio in a traditional sense; I box, and do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I maybe have one day per week where I do absolutely no training. The Jiu Jitsu and the boxing is ruff on the shoulders as well.

I am sure I am over training, but I always have trouble tapering down. I feel like I am going to lose something.

Certainly sounds like some tendonitis to me.

I would rec. taking a good antiflammatory, Motrin works great, you can take Motrin 800mg three times a day (which is RX strenghth) as long as you don't have kidney problems. Also, the best thing you can do is rest.... I would take a week off from working any upper body and if the pain is totally gone, slowly start exersizing again. Let pain be our guide...

Also after your start working out upper bod again, ice your shoulders after each workout....

Hope this helps.

I know you said the cirls agrivated it...but what about bench press? does it hurt towards the front of the shoulder? Rear? middle(deep)?
I know with bench presses, I hurt the front of my shoulder (felt like it was right under the front delt) by doing presses with my elbows out...Then every time I did curl with a wide grip...It would agrivate my shoulder. I took a week off of bench and curls, then when I started back, I did bench with my elbows in at my sides. It has felt fine ever since.
