Have you had your cholesterol get lower as you have worked out doing cardio & weights & eating a clean diet.

I am freaked out at the moment because I have to get mine tested on Thur this week & I know it is high. My Dr. has told me I need to lose weight (I already knew that but it sure humbled me hearing it from her for some reason)I am also starting my new clean eating plan & exercise regimne with cardio & weights today so I am sure it will go down, but I am just looking for actual proof I suppose of people who have actually had it lower. Or just words of encouragement would help, too. I just feel so humbled & worried at the moment. Not like me & it is very uncomfortable.

Off to do my cardio!

Thanks,
Cat

Since I am eating more "healthy" fats, my good cholesterol (HDL) is higher and my bad cholesterol (LDL) is lower. Even though my overall cholesterol total is higher, the ratio of good to bad is still better than what it was when my total cholesterol was lower. Make any sense :mix: ? When I had an eating disorder and really didn't eat anything, my total cholesterol was low, but a higher portion of that was the bad cholesterol compared to now. Having cholesterol that's too low is unhealthy because your body needs some cholesterol to make all it's hormones.

But to answer your question, the good things you're doing like exercise and a clean diet should have a good effect on your cholesterol.

Thanks Fit!

I have calmed down a bit since this morning but I am still a bit freaked. What I felt like was a kid who just got punished for doing something wrong. Not that I didn't know I need to lose a lot of weight, but to have her say it to me was a shocker for some reason. ???????

I appreciate your insight to this. I know it will improve & I felt a great deal better after I did cardio, too. I am also going to add into my clean diet some soy & 1 C purple grape jiuce/day. I've been reading that those, along with fiber, diet & ex, are really helpful in lowering chol & making your heart more healthy.

Hope you're having a great day!
