Question for Daisy...

Hey Daisy - I started a thread a while back saying that I was trying your diet. I've done awesome so far, I look better than I have in 3 years! Anyway, without re-reading the whole thread of your "transformation", can you let me know what you did when you hit a plateau? Did you cut out the cheat day, or did you replace your oatmeal/brown rice with veggies? I've been at the same weight for 3 weeks now, and I was averaging a pound a week. I'm only 2 pounds away from my goal, I'd really like to hit it! Thanks!

WHen you hit a plateau, definately change your diet. I would cut out, or limit, the starchy carbs. For example, if you are eating 1 cup oatmeal in the morning, cut it down to 1/2-3/4 cup. Little changes can make a huge difference. You can cut out starchy carbs entirely, but for 2 lbs, I bet tiny changes will make the difference.

Make sure ALL starchy carbs are before lunchtime, if you are eating a potato with your "lunch", maybe move it to your 2nd meal. Your "lunch" might be just meat and veggies. Also, you could just have the oatmeal at breakfast be your only starchy carbs.

Cheat day can continue, but possibly cut it down a little. Don't have an ALL OUT day. :)

As far as other changes, try to increase the intensity of your cardio workout. Not adding TIME, but making it a little harder. Upping the level, or adding HIIT (if you don't already), etc.

Make sure you are drinking enough water too. :) At least 1 gallon, if not more.

Thanks so much. I only eat a 1/2 cup of oatmeal, so I don't want to cut that down. I have lunch at 1:30 which includes some sweet potato, and that's the last starchy carb of the day. I cut out that second meal a long time ago, my calories a pretty low - I won't say what they are cause I'll get yelled at :) I drink a gallon of water a day already.... but I only started doing HIIT last week. Maybe that'll fix me up if I continue to do it.... Thanks for the help!

*ahem* start the yelling....

You also could be at a plateau because your calories are too low. If they are too low, your body will act as if it is starving and not release any more fat to be burned off.

....end of yelling. :)
