Question about Spatt's cutting diet.

Spatts-

How much did you weigh when you were on this cutting diet? Right now, I'm at 174 and would like to drop some bodyfat (not so much scale weight). The way I figure it...I could eat between 1900-2000 calories and still drop weight. What do you think.

Age: 22
Weight: 174
Height: 5'5.5"

Am I figuring this right at all?

I think if you want to eat that many cals an still drop weight, then you have to create a deficit through exercise. That's why I rotate my carbs. Somedays I burn off more than others. I have used this diet to drop weight 3 times, and to gain weight with control 2 times. Works like a charm every time.

Well, my lifting looks like this....

Monday: Legs
Tuesday: 1hr cardio in the am
Wednesday: Back/tris/rear delts
Thursday: 1 hr cardio in the am
Friday: Chest/biceps/ medial&lat delts
Sat: 1 hr cardio in the am

Is that enough work to constitute eating that many calories or should I drop the amount? I dont' have any idea how many kcals I should eat on a non-workout day. How did you figure that up?

Do you mean anterior delts (front) on Friday...with medial delt (side)?

Anyway, I'd do 1800 high and 1400 low, but without knowing your exact BF%, it's kinda hard to tell. You could start somewhere, see how it goes, and tweak it from there.

Yeah, that's what I meant! LOL...it's getting late.

That sounds like a good idea...thanks for your input. I'm gonna try it out and see how it works for me.

Keep me posted. I even had to "relearn" my balance this go 'round. Took me a couple months too. I'm about 181 AFTER a high carb day now, so it's working just fine. I'm actually having trouble eating as much as I'm allowed right now.

1800 on lifting days and 1400 on cardio days? Is that what you are talking about?

Yeah....with the carbs at 150 and 50, respectively (after fiber).

I recently started making my higher carb days lower in fat, and lower carb days higher in fat. Seems to be working just fine, and I can eat fattier meats on protein days that way. MMmmmm....steak.
