never really got into pushups but after 4 months of lifting i could do 60 diamond pushups with elbows touching my hips. but hte times i did em before bed i got pumped up and couldnt sleep so didnt seem like a good idea. maybe if you do em like 2 hours before bed youll be tired by then and lose your 'high' from working out.

There's a famous saying, ""Fatigue is the best pillow".

Maybe doing pushups 2 hours before bed could create fatigue for a more restful sleep.

It was weird for me when I did pushups and situps and stuff before bed I would feel tired instantly and go right to sleep? Not so now when I do a full workout though

It's difficult for me personally, to tell whether or not pushups before bed help or hinder sleep.

There is the question of sleep quality as well.

I'll tell you one thing though, I'm on cycle right now and I feel like I need to do pushups before bed because my muscles are craving the exercise :sleep2:

Question about pushups in general::::::::: do you guys feel they are worth having in a routine? I remember reading somewhere that they are a really underrated exercise.

I'm glad this is a poll question. We are still receiving votes after 12 days.

I've stopped doing my nightly pushups, but now exercise more days per week than I used to.

I'm doing HST, which calls for 3 lifting sessions per week.

I'm now doing 3 lifting sessions per week + 3 high intensity cardio sessions.

i get someone in ym gmy to stack plates on my back

i place my feet on a bench press when i do pushups to make it harder

then have someone place the plates on my back

u can easily fit over 5-6 plates on your back, after that starts becoming a struggle

Sounds like something good to try.
