Ok i have a question regarding the digestion of whey protein. I hear everyone on the boards say that whey will be fully digested and into your bloodstream within 20-40 minutes of drinking it. The problem i have is that when i take it and later when i burp like over an hour later i can still taste the protein in my stomach. Does this mean that its not fully digested and i have a very slow metabolism? Thanks for any help
 
don't worry about it. Doesn't mean anything. Just gas. If you're still worried try supplementing with digestive enzymes such as twinlab super enzymes caps and hydrochloric acid.
 
You are fine, nothing to worry about. I doon't know if you are looking for advice on how much protein to take, but once I started taking in 1-1.5 grams of protein per lb. of bodyweight, with a lot of clean carbs, I was surprised how great my body responded. It can be hard, and expensive to get the right amount of protein in your body but it is worth it. Good luck and keep us posted.
 
you dont want your body to digest it fast. you want it to digest it slooooowwwww so its utilized rather than spilled over because of too high bioavailability.
 
You may have a problem with the lactose. If you try using an isolate and mixing it with water instead of milk you may be able to alleviate the problem. I hve the same problem when I use either milk or whey protein concentrate because concentrate still has some lactose in it. Give trueprotein.com a look and try some of their cold-filtrated whey protein. I jstu started using this instead of the store brands which use mostly cheaper concentrate and it has helped in amazing ways. PM me I have a 5% discount code you can use on your first purchase. There are also a lot of different types of protein ... such as slow digesting ones. I take these before bed w. some NPB.

In reference to the burping up, Im guessing you just gulp it down consuming lots of air with your shake. This could make you burp or fart later. :p
