I'm glad I went back and looked at this post again! I missed some comments.
The new sneaks were a must. I swear, I've bought so much stuff since I started this.
I've become kind of a junkie. I've got 2 rounds of protein and gainer on the card right now (I'm buying by the case), bought gym clothes, a new bag, gloves, straps, all sorts of stuff.
kingjohn, I've read a LOT about juicing, both before and after I joined, but I'm not to that point yet. I've never done anything in the way of physical activity in my 27 years, and I think I'm better off to push myself naturally for a while. I'm not opposed to it at some point, but I think it's too early to seriously consider it.
Everyone, thanks again for the positive feedback! It's just one more piece of motivation for me.
And fantom, I kinda thought I was taking a little bit of a risk by posting, but y'know what? I've heard it all before. I've been the scrawny, picked on kid all my life. So even if I had gotten blasted for posting my pics, it really wouldn't have mattered to me. I got a serious kick out of seeing my progress over 2 months.
I've just done my 12 week weigh in. I'm up from 170 lbs, 13% BF to 177 lbs, 15.2% BF. Measurements are pretty consistently up. Biggest change over 12 weeks was shoulders, going from 44.75" to 46.75". Don't know if I'm doing pics again; I may weight until the next month's weigh in.
As far as other changes, it's been phenomenal! My mood has improved, I have more energy, more confidence, less stress, and I just feel better all the way around. I can't even describe how good it's all been. Aside from the strength gains, the difference in how I feel overall makes it worthwhile. But the strength gains and FINALLY gaining good weight kicks serious ass.
One other goal I set as a part of this was to get off my blood pressure meds. It's dropped a lot, but I don't know if it'll be enough to get me off the meds. That part of it has been less important to me lately; I'm more focused on getting bigger now.
