Problem Sleeping....

Does anyone have a solution for getting a good night sleep, I'm 3 weeks out from my contest, hubbty's deployed until Sept, have 2 kids and cutting carbs!!!!

I need all the sleep I can for training and being a mom, this is driving me nuts! I keep waking up all hrs. of the night! I tried Tylenol pm, but that made me groggy the next a.m. HELP!!
 
Have u tried the usual:

melatonin
5HTP

And just the OTC diphenhydromine sleeping aids?

Tylenol PM leaves me useless in the morning too. I use the OTC stuff.
 
Not sure what too take that wouldn't make you groggy.... the next day at least.
When I haven't been sleeping well, i seem to get a good nights sleep when i have a couple of cups of decaff green tea before bed. I also heard of some taking the supp melanin(sorry about the spelling). Wish i could help more :worried:
Also watch what time you are taking in any caffiene during the day---i gotta cut mine out*even fatburner* at around 2 pm.

Have you tried Melatonin? That really helped me sleep. I took 1-3g about 30 min before bed. I slept nicely (had weird dreams though) and in the AM was not groggy.

I took 1g if I just needed a little help sleeping, 1.5g normally, and more than that if I was WIDE awake and was able to sleep in some in the AM.

Melatonin is nice because it is naturally produced in the body in the evening/night hours. The lack of light is what causes its production. It really helps you relax and feel groggy. It won't "knock you out" but will help you feel like sleeping. I took it 30 min before bed, turned on a small light and read until I felt it hit me.

Light helps it "wear off". So in the AM, if you still feel groggy, turn on on all the lights, open the shades and you will help the melatonin wear off faster.
 
Yep you can get it OTC.

Have you tried the OTC diphenhydromine HCl stuff? Like Sleepeaze or any of that - Nytol, etc.? These are non-addicting. I've found that melatonin works for a short period of time but after a while I start getting really wild dreams for about 3 hrs and then I'm wide awake. I've had 5-HTP recommended, but I couldn't say for sure if it worked for me. I've consistently had the best luck w/ the diphenhydromine HCl stuff and dont' feel flaky in the am.

Hey lady :rose:

Just curious if you are using/added/removed any supps from your diet?
Or if you'd like to share, just in general the supps you are taking pre-contest...

Bunny, I'm taking ECA twice a day, I cycle it every 2 weeks, so time to switch back to T-rex & Leverex. I tried C.B. but got a major headache. I take my last fatburner @ 2:00 p.m. so I can sleep The only diff. that I added lately is Dietex, I luv that stuff, totally suppresses my carb cravings :)

Dang...the Hoodia in the Dietex didn't work too good for me...you and Sassy both got good results, I was at 2-3 caps 3 x a day, then cycled back on T-Rex with added Synephrine (which reminds me to take some right now).

I'm not complaining though, I CAN take 2 T-Rex at 6 pm and crash at 10pm :insane:...all this stuff is mental with me, I swear :rolleyes:
