Exactly..most whey shakes will be digested in 2 hours, hence the reason they are best as soon as you wake and post workout
 
Whey Protein is NOT a good choice of protein before bed. It is absorbed to quickly and really should only be used to supplement you first meal of the day, and post-training to get into you bloodstream as quick as possible.

Before bed stick with whole food such as chicken, egg whites, fish, steak, or cottage cheese and take in some vegtables and 3grams of flax/fish oil to slow down absorption. When your body needs protein IMMEDIATELY choose whey, otherwise choose protein sources that will give you a conitous supply of protein.
 
I usually just have a big glass of 1% milk before bed. Probably makes me fart all night, but my girlfriend hasn't complained yet....
