Origin(s) on the prohibition against Homosexuality

Where did the prohibition(s) against Homosexuality come from? In my research here is what I have discovered. Religions fought each other in war over who's religion was the "right" or "true" religion. And who's was wrong. They killed each other over this. Constant wars. As time went along under these conditions and people were being killed, the religious "higher ups" realized they were running out of people to fight these wars (or that they would run out or that they needed MORE people being born to fight these wars and defend "their religion"). They also realized that the more people they had - or could claim to have "on their side" - the more powerful they could become. They needed more people to "defend" the religion. (Remember there are THOUSANDS of religions each with their own particular beliefs). When it was realized that Men were engaged in Sexual relations with each other from time to time and the "higher-ups" realized that new life would not result in the birth of "replacement people" the "powers-that-be" decided to "prohibit" those relationships between Men and eventually wrote this prohibition into "law" (Men continued to DO what they had always naturally done and would not listen...). God AND Christ THEMSELVES HAVE NEVER SAID ONE WORD about it being wrong for two Men to love each other - even sexually. If it was wrong THEY WOULD HAVE - THEMSELVES - SAID SO and THEY NEVER DID. Certain They did not forget to mention this if is was so important and so very wrong. They BOTH NEVER SAID ONE WORD about this. This "prohibition" was created by relgion(s) to insure the population would continue in the effort to win over adversaries... In Nature and the Natural World Heterosexuality, BiSexuality and Homosexuality have always existed. All are very natural. We are a part of that Natural World. Each is a VARIATION as with anything else in life and living there IS VARIETY in ALL THINGS including Sex. Take Care, John H.

So God or Jesus never said anything about homosexuality? Hmm, have you even read the Bible? You might not agree with it, but you cant actually argue that homosexuality is not discussed. In both the OT and NT, Leviticus and Romans off the top of my head.

While you are correct, there have been many wars about religion, your miss the time frame also. What is currently considered cannonal scripture was penned before the rise of the Christian religious leaders as a political movement. The Hebrew tradition, while itself much older, also contains the same prohibitions. And the Jews, historically persecuted, did not try to invent more enemies for themselves, they already had plenty.

Hi Juice. The Bible was written by MEN - over 40 and over a long period of time. Each with their own viewpoints and prejudices. The Old Testament is nothing more than the Jewish law books actually. Christ, for example, was on this earth for 32 years and AT NO TIME EVER did He say ONE WORD about Homosexuality or BiSexuality being wrong in any way ever. Surely He did not forget to mention it. He is quoted as having said a lot about other things... Wars about religion have been going on for a very long time actually and still are in some places in the world even today. Religion and politics have always been "strange bedfellows" and more people have been killed and murdered in the name of religion and politics then for any other reason in the history of the world.
